Just Admit It

What would the world be like if more people decided to just admit it? I don’t know what the end result would be but I do hypothesize that the amount of crap and drama in existence would decrease by 79.8%. It seems like the events that capture the most attention in society are when someone is lying and the whole world watches while the pressure builds until the person/persons crack under the weight of ever increasing scrutiny. JUST ADMIT IT! But wait…You always have a chance of getting away with it. Call it what you want but that’s the American Way.

Anyone who pays attention to politics sees it. Anyone in the justice system or legal profession in any way sees it. Cool. That’s how it is. But since when did we start treating friendships and relationships like political campaigns and legal cases? I don’t know when the transition happened but I do know it did. Personal relationships, for many people, have turned into just that; political campaigns and legal cases.

You don’t have to agree with me but if we look very closely at our lives and the people in them, we will most likely find that people are merely running for different offices. Some people run for secretary: They want to take notes on everything you do for future reference during your impeachment. Some people run for treasurer: They want to be in control of your money. Some people run for Sergeant at Arms: They want to tell you what to do. Some people run for small posts on different committees: They want to to nip at you heels on multiple levels. While others try to head up security: They want you to feel safe and secure so that they may murder you without a struggle. “To assassinate one’s character or to drag one’s name through the mud is murder.” (Idk)  And still there are others who want to be on your legal team: They want to know every detail so they can provide very small pieces of evidence to the prosecution to torture you and keep you uncertain.

Following that same logic I surmise: Our failings are not solely our own doing, but we fail most often because we have elected the wrong people to positions in our lives that were already filled or didn’t need to be filled at all.
Where would our country be if Obama and Romney were the Presidents? How do you think the Congress would do if there was a one person per person increase? Could your court case be handled right if your lawyer was the one prosecuting you? None of those situations would work out in any way….unless there was a devastating natural disaster or a state of declared war. Shift that into our personal life: Is that the only time we want to have things right? Only in times of distress and uncertainty? Only during fights and wars?

We all have vacancies and needs in our lives. You have to have the right people in place but the truth about it is you have to have the right people in the right places.
