Working My Weight Off

If you know me or have been close to me then you know that I’m working with about 2.3% body fat. I don’t know what it’s like to be heavy and heavy people don’t know what it’s like to be like me. I promise there is a struggle on both sides of the fence…maybe for different reasons but there are reasons for everybody wanting to be on the other side for at least a little bit.

So when I say working my weight off it should come as no shock that I’m not talking about body fat nor trying to trim down to fit clothes. For body weight I have none but I ask this: What measurement can record the mass index of a heavy heart? Recognition.
Recognition is the only scale to measure the weight of a heavy heart. The more recognition given, the heavier the heart; the less recognition felt, the more insignificant the issue. It would be foolish of me to talk to anyone about insignificant issues so my little nugget of information is for times when recognition is at a maximum level. Severe emotional gluttony and bloating of the heart is just as dangerous as true gluttony and bloating. Being too heavy will kill you. Having a heart that’s too heavy will do the same thing. Likewise, losing the weight in an unhealthy fashion in either paradigm is just as dangerous.

There is only one good way to shed that excess weight. We have to work it off. Now I am sure of that one thing. I am pretty sure that unhealthy diets, bodily starvation, excess purges, and dangerous dietary supplements are not the way to go. I have heard and seen good results from a few gastric bypasses, but I don’t know enough about that to go into much detail…I do know that sometimes the head stays big. (Lol! It’s true) But listen, all of that information goes for the heart as well. If you begin to ingest unhealthy feelings, no feelings, get rid of everything and everybody, turn to rebound relationships, or numb yourself with an overabundance of alcohol/drugs it’s not going to go well for you. Any weight you lose by those tactics will return to haunt you in due time.

As I said before, the weight has to be worked off. I’m in no position to advise any person of the particular activity to lose the weight, but my blanket statement is just to say that there is surely work involved when the weight is lost the right way. That may mean a return to a lost love. It may mean working oneself into greater things. The work may lead a person to never before seen horizons. But it may also take another back to the homestead. Often the work involved will be full of other temptations, snares, and setbacks; but just as often as those things come, there is smooth sailing for a little while.  No matter what work is required, the truth about it is, if you aren’t working then you are losing the weight in the wrong manner.
